Welcome

Hi, I'm Clara.

I work at the intersection of engineering and design exploring how complex technologies become usable systems, interfaces and products. My work spans research, product strategy and interaction prototyping.

Art, science and philosophy strongly influence how I think about technology and its role in society.

Thanks for stopping by.

About

Clara
Astigarraga

I trained in Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and later completed an MA in Design & Innovation Management at the University of the Arts London.

My work sits between technology, design and product development, and I'm particularly interested in how emerging technologies become usable systems and experiences.

I've worked across consumer electronics and accessibility technology, contributing to research, product strategy and feature development. My background across disciplines means I'm comfortable working across data, technical and creative contexts.

Inclusion has been central to my work, specially across gender and disability.

Outside of product work, I'm drawn to art, philosophy and science, which strongly influence how I think about technology and its role in society.

Based between London and San Sebastián.

Technology startup that organises the world's accessibility information to remove barriers for disabled people.

  • Led a small research team driving insight-to-product alignment across early and late-stage product
  • Collaborated with Design and Engineering to translate findings into product iterations, new features, content improvements, and data workflows for scalability
  • Identified frictions informing roadmap decisions and product-market fit
  • Drove business engagement and community outreach

Developed advanced research capabilities at the intersection of design, innovation, and business strategy: qualitative and quantitative research, foresight, trend research, speculative design for innovation, culture-tech relationships, and philosophical questions around identity in technology.

  • Thesis — Gender Inclusive Approaches in High-Tech

Global luxury-lifestyle consumer electronics brand creating products that push the boundaries of audio technology. Worked with cross-functional teams across the full product lifecycle from discovery through delivery.

  • Led a mixed methods research project with +400 users and +10 experts, informing innovation in a product category
  • Conducted market trends, competitive analysis, user research, and design insights to inform product decisions
  • Delivered actionable value propositions, roadmap contributions, and go-to-market strategies
  • Conducted thorough testing and evaluation of competitor products
  • Facilitated workshops with senior leadership to define portfolio strategy
  • Supported successful launches including Beosound Explore and Beoplay HX

Multidisciplinary training in analytical problem-solving across technology, business, and systems design.

  • Strong foundations in process optimisation, product development, and computational analysis
  • Thesis (9.7/10) — Product innovation strategy for Bang & Olufsen
  • Quantum Excellence, Qiskit Global Summer School — IBM (2025)
  • Creative Quantum Computing — IBM Quantum & CCI (2024)
  • Product Management Fundamentals — PMI (2024)
  • Gender Inclusive Approaches in Technology — CCI (2024)
